Chemical Products | A balanced solution

Client Profile

Operating in North America and throughout the world, the Client is a leading manufacturer, distributor and marketer of chemical products to the automotive maintenance and repair markets.

The Client used JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.10, which was nearing the end of support. Soon there would be no updates, fixes, security alerts or upgrade scripts. By the following year, the tax, legal and regulatory updates would be terminated. The Client needed to upgrade quickly. Cost and user acceptance of a web-based system concerned the Client, who had experimented with the web interface of release 8.10 and received mixed response from their user community.

With Corning Data Upgrade Assist, we helped the Client explore various upgrade considerations and strategies in order to meet the company’s key objectives of performing a successful upgrade, containing cost, and obtaining user-acceptance of a web based system.

Corning Data worked closely with the Client team to develop a model that clearly outlined the division of responsibilities between Corning Data and internal staff members. By maximizing use of the inside team, and with Corning Data providing fixed price project management, the Client upgraded within a limited budget. Corning Data demonstrates an improved user interface and better integration between JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0 and Microsoft. This resolved previous concerns of user-acceptance of the web-based system and paved the way for system satisfaction.
