Wow–the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne user experience sure has evolved a long way from the days of the original OneWorld ‘Fat Client’! Our interface now includes process flows that are simplified to reduce employee training time, real time alerts to help us manage by exception, and embedded analytics to keep our fingers on the pulse of the business. We have Personalization without modification, can quickly search across applications and data, and interact with our applications on our smart phones. With Orchestrator, we no longer even need to interact with our applications—our equipment can communicate directly with JD Edwards without our fingers touching the keyboard.
Recently, we helped one of our clients really unlock the power of these new tools with a targeted Business Transformation project to streamline their Order Fulfillment process. They went from a process driven by paper and email that took many man hours to fulfill an order over several days to real-time quoting, in a paperless environment. We helped them implement new processes that included BI Publisher for report formatting and distribution and DSI mobility for warehouse operations. Alerts from Watch Lists changed the paradigm from “Reactive” to “Proactive”. To improve Available to Promise, we integrated their packaging machinery directly into JD Edwards to automate work order completion.
The overall reduction in costs and increased productivity delivered an ROI of over $1 Million in less than a year.
